"Therapy Intensives: Deep Healing in a Shorter Time Frame"

What is a therapy intensive?

If you’ve been in therapy before, you have had the experience where you’re JUST starting to get to the deeper work and … it’s time to wrap up for the day. Then the next week, you come back and maybe something has happened you need to process, so it is hard to pick up where you left off. Time goes by and the next thing you know, it’s been months and you still haven’t really talked about that traumatic incident you came in to work through.

Imagine that you don’t have to pause at 50 minutes, or even 90 minutes. What if you could keep going for several hours? My experience has been that therapy intensives offer an opportunity and create the space for deep and meaningful healing to happen in a much shorter time than week to week therapy. Does week to week therapy work? Absolutely! However, therapy intensives can often require less total time than weekly therapy.

I work with individuals and couples who know immediately they want to do an intensive, and I’ve also transitioned current clients to an intensive model when it feels like it will be helpful. I have a lot of flexibility with the way I work, and I’m confident that we can work together to find what is the best path to healing for you.

The Process:

The process for intensives is not too different than individual therapy. First, we’ll start out with a free 30 minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit. We will discuss what you’re looking to accomplish and whether an intensive might be a good option for you. You can bring your questions and I’ll tell you more about my approach and how we can work together. Typically, people like to book their initial session at the end of the consultation call, but you can also book online afterward if you need some time to think it over.

In our initial session together, we’ll spend time completing an assessment called a biopsychosocial. This typically takes about 2 hours in an intensive, because I’m getting really curious and spending time hearing about your current life, your childhood and young adulthood, as well as your primary concerns for our time together. While you’re sharing, I am already starting to piece together a path forward. When you share your pain, I hear your path to healing - and together we begin the journey down that path.

The Investment

Pricing for intensives is based on the day it takes place. Intensives done Monday - Wednesday are $185/hour (availability is limited these days). Thursday - Saturday intensives are $250/hour. The minimum amount of time for an intensive is 3 hours and the maximum amount of time in one day is 6 hours. At this time, all intensives are online. I am available to travel to Washington state and Colorado for multiple day, in person intensives. Reach out for more details.

I do not accept insurance and do not provide super bills. I am a non-pathologizing therapist, and I do not base treatment on diagnosis in all cases. Insurance requires a diagnosis code in order to bill. I am ethically opposed to these practices.
